Sakarun beach, on the north-western coast of Dugi otok, is famed for its pale sand-and-pebble shore and shallow turquoise water, earning it the nickname “the Caribbean of the Adriatic”. A shady pine forest lines the wide bay, which is also a favourite anchorage for sailors and day-trippers arriving by boat. The clear, shallow water makes it especially appealing for families.
