Vransko jezero Nature Park is built around the largest natural lake in Croatia, separated from the sea by only a narrow strip of land. Part of the lake is a protected ornithological reserve whose reed beds offer superb birdwatching. Cycling paths ring the shoreline, and the Kamenjak viewpoint opens up a sweeping panorama over the lake, the coast and the offshore islands.
Good to know
A ticket is required for the bird reserve and some facilities, and the shoreline trail is well suited to cycling. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for birdwatching.
