Five Wells Square

The Square of the Five Wells owes its name to the five stone wells built in the 16th century, which once secured the city's water supply. Lined up in a neat row, they edge the square that stretches between the Land Gate and the adjoining park. Today this shaded spot is a quiet place to pause in the heart of the old town.
